Yin Qiao Wan
This formula was first mentioned in the 'Analysis of Warm Diseases' - Wen Bing Tiao Bian by Wu Ju-Tong in 1798.
It was specifically designed for the purpose of supporting the defensive aspect of viral and bacterial infections developing into Wind-Heat syndromes in the Lungs and upper respiratory tract.
According to TCM, the Defensive Qi (Wei Qi or Immunity) involves the skin, body hair, pores, striae, muscles and connective tissues which all form a protective barrier against pathogenic invasions/infections.
Over time this formula has become the primary TCM treatment for Wind-Heat invasion (bacterial/viral). It is a well designed formula that features strongly acting ingredients which clear Wind-Heat and Heat Toxin from the upper respiratory tract.
The formula is primarily made up of cooling herbs such as honeysuckle, mint, Japanese catnip and forsythia which all help to generate body fluids that are lost during fever and infection.
