Qigong

The word Qigong is most easily represented as an umbrella term which covers a wide variety of practices and methods such as meditation and spiritual cultivation, healing movements and dance, strengthening exercises, massage and stretching, chanting and religious cultivation.

Grounded in martial background and practice, our Qigong classes our primarily focused on medical Qigong practices which have been passed on for hundreds of years. Some of the forms which involve a selection of forms, techniques, clinical applications and vigorous research to provide a mind-body healing practice beneficial for people in all stages of life.

Some of the Qigong forms we teach include the Ba Duan Jin (8 Silken Brocades), Yi Ji Jin (Muscle/Tendon Metamorphosis), Wu Xi Qin (Five Animal Frolics) as well as the Liu Ze Jue (Six Sound Healing).

Although there are many different Qigong practices and schools, at their core they all share a primary goal towards adjusting and aligning the body, breath and mind. Together known as the ‘Three Adjustments’.

Through the harmonization and mobilization of the ‘Three Adjustments’ Qigong practice regulates the autonomic conditioning to its optimal state, maximizes the physical body to its fullest potential and invigorates all levels of human experience.
