SOFIA QUINTERO

Sofia Quintero is a dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher, who was first drawn to Yoga in 2010 when she was looking for a therapy that could help her regain balance in her body as she had suffered from an injury she had when she was a child.

The healing she experienced through the practice went far beyond the physical and naturally led her into a path of self-enquiry which inspired her to dive deeper into the philosophical and spiritual teachings of Yoga.

After 5 years of devoted practice in Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Vinyasa Yoga, she felt inspired to take her first Yoga Teacher Training and then to study Applied Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga with Simon Borg Olivier.

It was then, when she began to dive deeper into Yin Yoga, that she felt in love with the meditative qualities of this slow-paced practice and its emphasis on Taoist philosophy and Chinese Medicine.

She followed her call and studied Yin Yoga Therapy with Markus Geiss and Functional Anatomy, Chinese Medicine, and Mindfulness with Hugh Lee.

Sofia's deep passion for Yoga as Therapy continues to deepen and she is currently undertaking her Ayurvedic health counsellor program with Myra Lewin from Hale Pule.

Sofia taught Yoga for 8 years on the Gold Coast, hosted a variety of workshops on Yin Yoga and Ayurveda and facilitated a Yin Yoga Teacher Training alongside her partner Nicholas Beasley, Dr of Chinese Medicine.

Following a long-time dream, they both moved to beautiful Tasmania in April this year and opened up an acupuncture clinic in the heart of Launceston, Wuji Medicine.
